On Tuesday in Beijing, on the occasion of the signing of further cooperation agreements, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics reported results which serve to further strengthen cooperation between Hungary and China in the fields of investments, the emergence of Chinese companies in Hungary, transport, education and research, finance and culture.
“Hungary could start hosting MotoGP races beginning in 2022”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics announced at Saturday’s rounds of the European Rally Championships taking place in and around Nyiregyhaza.
The finals of World Robot Olympiad (WRO) world robot construction and programming competition began on Friday evening in Győr with the participation of contestants from 74 countries. This is the first time the global competition has been held in Europe.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will open a contact office in Hungary; the agreement on the foundation of the office was signed by Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics and EASA Executive Director Patrick Ky on 8 November 2019 in Budapest.

The Ministry for Innovation and Technology remains open to negotiations in the interests of the development of the vocational training system. According to a new bill recently put before Parliament, teachers working in vocational training can expect to receive an average salary increase of 30 percent from July 2020, for which the government is earmarking additional annual funding of 35 billion forints (EUR 106 million). During the past few days the Ministry has also held talks about its plans with the two largest teacher interest representation organisations, the Trade Union of Teachers and the Democratic Trade Union of Teachers.
The Hungarian SME Strategy, which was developed with the involvement of 1000 enterprises, was presented on Tuesday. In his opening lecture, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said: “The reinforcement and increased export revenues of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) is being facilitated via training courses, digital development projects and tax cuts”.
“It is thanks to the application of modern technologies and investments that create high added value that the Hungarian economy has not lost any of its growth momentum despite the international slowdown”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Thursday in Budapest at an event organised by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Netzwerk Digital and United Europe.
