A successful cooperation with the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) may contribute to increasing the international competitiveness of domestic medical and health sciences research and innovation, László Palkovics, Minister for Innovation and Technology said to MTI (Hungarian Press Agency) on Friday after a meeting in Germany with Edit Heard, Director General of EMBL.
“Hungary’s National Energy and Climate Plan is an excellent indication of Hungary’s commitment to adapting to climate change, one of the important elements of which is the greening of transport, including the environmentally friendly transformation of public transport”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said at a meeting with Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Lilyana Pavlova on 23 January 2020 in Budapest.
The world’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered aircraft suitable for passenger transport, developed in Hungarian-American cooperation, was unveiled in Jakabszállás, Bács-Kiskun County on Wednesday.
“The economy should be Hungarian, green and high-tech”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said in summary of the government’s economic plans at the University of Debrecen’s economic year-opening partner meeting on Thursday.
The Ministry for Innovation and Technology has published the documents of the recently adopted Energy and Climate Policy Strategy on the government website.
“The government and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology are committed to the continuous development of the road and rail networks and the public transport toolbox; this serves the country’s economic interests and the security and convenience of the Hungarian people and Hungarian families”, the Ministry’s State Secretary for Parliamentary and Strategic Affairs Tamás Schanda said at a joint press conference with Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) in Budapest on Wednesday.
The government has not made any kind of decision concerning the utilisation of funding during the European Union’s upcoming seven-year multiannual financial framework, mostly in view of the fact that there is no agreement on the 2021-2027 joint budget as yet, and the positions of the European Commission and member states remain far apart. As it has done to date, Budapest will continue to receive funding within the framework determined by the Brussels bureaucrats and according to the conditions they determine.
“Thanks to the measures introduced in recent years, students attending higher education institutions are able to acquire knowledge that is internationally competitive”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said at his year-launching press conference in Budapest on Tuesday.
On 16 December 2019 in Shanghai, the Minister for Innovation and Technology signed a memorandum of understanding with President of Fudan University Xu Ningsheng. In the document the parties confirm their common interest in the establishment of a campus for the institution in Budapest.
Based on their tender documentations for the 2019 concession bid-round, four contracts can be concluded for exploration, appraisal and production in the following areas: MOL PLC for Kisvárda and Nyírbátor, Vermilion Exploration B.V. for Kadarkút and HHE Group Kft. for Pusztaszer. The winner of the Gádoros area tender for geothermal energy exploration, production and prospection is Aspect-TDE Geotherm Kft. Since 2013, the seven successful concession rounds resulted in HUF 38 billion government revenues while more than HUF 110 billion investments could be realised.
