Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics received the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori on 21 March 2019 in Budapest.
“In contrast to Europe, the Hungarian automotive industry has performed well in the recent period in view of the fact that automotive industry production has increased by 4.8 percent compared to January 2018, and the industry’s production value has more than doubled since 2010. A gear change has occurred since the stabilisation of the economy; since 2014, Hungarian industry has grown the most rapidly out of the countries of the Visegrád Group (V4)”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Thursday in Kecskemét.
“The Hungarian economy is performing in an exemplary manner, including in European comparison, as also confirmed by last week’s credit rating increase”, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology’s Minister of State for Economic Strategy and Regulation László György declared at a meeting of the Competitiveness Council on 18 February in Brussels. The Minister of State held talks on the pollutant emissions of diesel cars and took part in the ministerial debates on the EU’s long-term climate strategy and artificial intelligence.
“Hungarian-German economic, technological and innovation cooperation, which is already functioning well, must be raised to a new level”, Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics stressed on Thursday in Berlin following a meeting with the Federal Republic of Germany’s Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure Andreas Scheuer.
“In 2018, the European Commission transferred 4.4 billion euros in development funding to Hungary”, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology’s Minister of State for European Union Development Projects Tamás Schanda told reporters on Monday.
“The Government will be spending 2500 billion forints (EUR 7.7bn) on road development until 2025; the two most important goals of the improvements are to ensure that all county capitals are accessible via motorway, and all motorways reach the national border”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Thursday in Berettyóújfalu at the official inauguration of the final stretch of the M35 motorway and the first stretch of the M4 motorway.
“Hungary is ensuring that EU resources are well-spent: the full budget of some 9000 billion forints (EUR 27.8bn) available for the current programming period has already been awarded to tender applicants, but we regard the proposed restructuring of the budget for the upcoming multi-annual financial framework and the planned reallocation of resources as unacceptable”, Minister of State Tamás Schanda from the Ministry for Innovation and Technology said at a forum in Esztergom on Tuesday.
Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics held talks on cooperation opportunities with the Minister of Transport of Baden-Württemberg and the leaders of the German state’s most important higher education institutions, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Tuesday.
“The application of European Union funding is outstanding in Hungary, even in V4 comparison: the Government has already distributed over 60 percent of the budget to the implementors of the projects, with which it is way ahead of the countries of the Visegrád Group”, the Ministry for Innovation and Technology’s Minister of State for European Union Development Policy Tamás Schanda said.
Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics initiated cooperation between the members of the automotive industry on Wednesday at the Automotive international automotive industry and supplier expo, to form a coalition to review the effects of new European pollutant emission regulations on the Hungarian automotive industry and draw up a proposal with relation to the feasibility of target figures.
