Protecting the environment and the fight against climate change is important to Hungary in view of the fact that we would all like clean water, purer air and a more tolerable climate. Climate change can only be countered through action, and Hungary is acting accordingly: in recent years we have introduced measures that are exemplary even by European Union standards, and are moving towards the targets we have set successfully and consistently.
The amendment of the government decree on the energy efficiency characteristics of buildings will finally remove the obstacles from the wider spread of district heating services among new retail, service provider and industrial consumers, Péter Kaderják, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and Climate Policy at the Ministry for Innovation and Technology announced at a press conference held in Budapest on Friday.
“Hungary’s R&D expenditure to GDP ratio index, which has been around 1.3 percent for years, significantly exceeded the highest value measured to date in 2018, at 1.53 percent. The government will be providing 32 billion forints (EUR 95.1 million) in additional funding for research & development and innovation next year, and the target for 2020 is to reach a ratio of 1.8 percent. Hungary will be able to progress to be among the most significant innovators if it suitably exploits the opportunities inherent in cooperation between the government, industry and universities”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on 28 November 2019 in Budapest at the closing event of the national series of programmes presenting the Territorial Innovation Platforms (TIPs).
“Thanks to the industrial policy decisions of the past eight years, the Hungarian economy has fundamentally occupied a high-tech trajectory, the significance of which is provided by its effect on economic growth and the environment”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Tuesday at a session of Parliament’s Sustainable Development Committee.
“Domestic small enterprises can also grow thanks to the operations of Hungary’s car plants, but the government must also contribute to their technological development”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Thursday in Budapest at the CEE Automotive Forum.
“According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the ratio of high-tech is highest within the Hungarian economy at 70 percent, putting it on a par with Germany and Denmark. In addition in Hungary, thanks to patriotic economy policy, the added value generated annually has increased by over a third”, State Secretary László György from the Ministry for Innovation and Technology said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Sunday from Washington at the launch of the English language version of his latest book: Creating Balance.
“The Modern Factories Night series of programmes creates an opportunity for links between modern Hungarian industry, strong Hungarian enterprise and the Hungarian people”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Friday at Knorr-Bremse Brake Systems Ltd.’s plant in Kecskemét, at the opening of the Modern Factories Night national series of programmes, which is being held for the third time this year.
“Thanks to its achievements within the field of state-of-the-art technology, Hungary has been given the opportunity to take part in one of China’s most important hi-tech events as guest of honour”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said in a telephone statement to Hungarian news agency MTI from Shenzhen in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong after opening the Hungarian pavilion at the 21st China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) innovation and technology expo.
“Based on the latest figures, it may be stated that the measures introduced to support the construction industry are successful. The government’s target is to support the sustainable development of the construction industry based on modern technology, in the interests of enabling this determining sector of Hungarian industry to successfully fulfil the increasing volume of orders”, Parliamentary State Secretary Tamás Schanda from the Ministry for Innovation and Technology said in assessment of the latest data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH).
The framework agreement on education between Hungary and China will also be extended to cooperation in vocational training, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday in Beijing.
