The government regards the aviation industry as a priority sector so that Hungary should become a winner not only of the automotive industry and the road transportation industry, but equally of the aviation industry, the Minister for Innovation and Technology stated on Monday at the inauguration of the composite factory of aircraft manufacturer Magnus Aircraft Zrt. The factory with a ground space of more than 5,000 square metres is located at the Pécs-Pogány airport.
One of the eight university science parks in Hungary will be created at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics announced on Wednesday in Budapest.
The government’s goal is for Hungary to be ranked among the European Union’s top five most liveable and competitive countries by 2030 so that Hungarian young people can become winners of the future, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology stressed at a press conference held on Wednesday in Győr which will host the final of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) global robotics and programming competition between 8 and 10 November.
In Hungary in the past ten years, some 600 kilometres of railway tracks have been modernised and 300 kilometres of railway lines have been electrified, railway stations have been refurbished, the rolling stock has been upgraded, new electric engines and multiple units have been procured, and the Hungarian state railway company MÁV has manufactured 20 self-developed railway carriages, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics listed on Tuesday at the conference 2019 Hungarian Railways of the Hungrail Hungarian Railway Association in Budapest.
The automotive industry is one of the most important driver sectors in Hungary, and strengthening the electromobility segment within the sector is particularly important as it is one of the pledges of the Hungarian economy’s competitiveness, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology said on Saturday in Budapest.
“Hungary is to become involved in projects relating to the electric highway being developed by the German state of Baden-Württemberg”, Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Wednesday in Stuttgart, the state’s capital.
“Construction work on the new BMW plant in Debrecen may now begin”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics announced on Tuesday following the signing of the purchase agreement relating to the infrastructurally-prepared plot of land in the city, with which the area of land selected for the investment project has now become the property of the BMW Group.
“The ZalaZone vehicle test track being realised with state funding, and the ZalaZone Research and Technology Centre constructed in its vicinity from private capital, are making Hungary a determining fact within the field of automotive industry development in the long term”, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said on Friday at the official inauguration of the centre.
According to Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics, e-sport has grown to become one of the most dynamically developing sports, and with the appearance of 5G networks the opportunities for further progress are endless.
US investors also support the strengthening of local research and development. In next year’s budget, the government has allocated 25 per cent more funding for research and development, Minister for Innovation and Technology László Palkovics told the Hungarian news agency at the Monday event of AmCham Hungary held in Budapest.
