Speaking at the annual assessment and tasking leadership conference, Minister of Defence István Simicskó pointed out that the Hungarian Defence Forces guarantee the security of Hungarian people and families. He stated that today Hungary is among the most secure countries.
On 22 January in Budapest, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó received Romanian Ambassador Marius Gabriel Lazurca, who was on an introductory visit to the Ministry.
Speaking at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó announced that the Hungarian Defence Forces (HDF) purchase two A319 Airbuses, adding that the planes will enter service with the HDF.
In the program of Hungarian TV channel M1 on Tuesday, Brig.-Gen. József Koller, the commander of the HDF Szolnok Helicopter Base said that after twenty years, the training of military pilots and air traffic controllers is to resume in Hungary at the National University of Public Service and the Szolnok air base.
Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó visited military personnel serving in the Great Plain Temporary Special Troops force in the company of Hungarian Defence Force Chief of Staff Major General Dr. Tibor Benkő.
Thanks to the Hungarian Defence Forces and law enforcement agencies, Hungary is one of the safest countries in the world today, the Defence Minister stated on Wednesday in Budapest at his hearing before Parliament’s Defence and Policing Committee.
On Monday, ministers from 23 EU member states signed a joint notification on the creation of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO) which is aimed at strengthening the EU’s defence dimension.
Speaking in Budapest on 26 October, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó said that the Hungarian Defence Forces are doing their best to guarantee the security of the country; accordingly, soldiers continue to be the first and most important to defence leaders, and their high esteem has strengthened the retention capability of the armed forces.
“According to the countries of the Visegrád Group, it is important to support initiatives within the European Union that are aimed at protecting Europe’s external borders”, the Ministry of Defence’s Parliamentary State Secretary declared at a joint press conference on Wednesday with his fellow V4 deputy defence ministers in Székesfehérvár.
