Soldiers do not prepare for war; they enter into service for the maintenance and preservation of security and peace, Defence Minister Tibor Benkő stressed at the oath-taking ceremony of non-commissioned officers in Budapest.
“Hungary supports all initiatives aimed at developing European defence capabilities”, Minister of Defence Tibor Benkő said on Monday in Luxembourg at a joint meeting of European Union foreign and defence ministers.
“The security of the Hungarian people is the Government’s top priority, and this is why it has begun the total reorganisation and development of the Hungarian Defence Force”, Minister of Defence Tibor Benkő declared at NATO’s headquarters in Brussels on Friday.
In addition to reducing taxes, boosting the economy, strengthening families and implementing a demographic programme, the most important goal of next year’s budget will be to preserve the country’s sovereignty and to strengthen border protection, for the purposes of which we will allocate a significant amount of funds, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence told the newspaper Magyar Idők. Szilárd Németh also said the Hungarian Defences Forces will be one of the winners of next year’s budget.
