The Hungarian Defence Forces’ air defence capabilities will be reinforced with modern US missile systems, according to an announcement made on 12 August, Wednesday, in the Balaton utca building of the Ministry of Defence in Budapest. Defence Minister Tibor Benkő and US Ambassador to Hungary David Cornstein signed a declaration of intent with respect to the development which is crucial for the security of Hungary and the region.

Hungarian soldiers, too, are playing an active part in the effort to contain the epidemic, Romulusz Ruszin, deputy head of the Defence Forces Operational Group stressed at the Saturday online press conference of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus epidemic.
“Hungarian Defence Force (HDF) management staff have appeared at further enterprises”, the Ministry of Defence said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday. The list includes food industry, shipping and chemical industry companies.
“The primary task of the hospital commanders, who will be entering service at fifty-one healthcare institutions from 30 March, will be the operation and supervision of the system to ensure that medical directors can concentrate exclusively on patient care and healing”, Minister of Defence Tibor Benkő said on TV2 television’s “Mokka” program on Monday morning.
