According to the Government Spokesperson, left-wing and liberal politicians attacked Hungary because of its immigration policy on Monday in the European Parliament (EP), based on complaints by international organisations financed by George Soros.
Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács takes the view that the hearing held in the European Parliament (EP) on Monday is aimed against the Hungarian Government’s migration policy.
The Government has already clarified vis-a-vis European institutions the vast majority of the issues that are expected to be raised at the hearing in the European Parliament (EP) to be held on Monday with respect to the situation of fundamental rights in Hungary, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács stated at his press conference held in Brussels before the hearing.
On Thursday evening Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told Hungarian television channel M1 that the opposition parties have betrayed the Olympics, thus dismantling national unity on the issue.

On Friday morning, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told Kossuth Radio’s “180 Minutes” programme that the pragmatic and practical steps Hungary has been highlighting for two years are now central concepts in the European Union.
“The joint statement adopted at last week’s EU summit in Malta is to all intents and purposes equivalent to what Hungary has been proposing with relation to reinforcing the protection of Europe’s external borders and restoring law and order along the EU’s border zones in the interests of managing the situation”, Zoltán Kovács said in London.
“The positions that Hungary has been stressing for some time with regard to stopping migration are slowly prevailing, one step at a time”, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács said in a telephone statement to Hungarian news agency MTI, based on the news received so far from the EU summit in Malta.
