In Komló on Friday Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács spoke at a press conference as part of the nationwide tour organised in connection with Fidesz’s petition launched on 6 November against the EU’s migrant resettlement quota.
The southern security border closure has proved that it works and fulfils its function, and if these security measures were also implemented in other EU Member States, such as Greece, there would be no incidents where migrants attempt to break through the border at the Greek-Macedonian border section, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács spoke about this on the public service television news channel M1 on Friday morning.
Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács told public television channel M1 that while in 2010 only about 150 cases of people smuggling were recorded, this year, to date already 535 cases have been uncovered. This shows that parallel to the migration wave, organised crime is also on the increase, he said.
At a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács announced the Government’s decision to set up a coordination committee under the auspices of the Centre for Counter-terrorism; the coordination committee’s task will be to improve work related to counter-terrorism and prevention.
