In the 2020 budget there will be more money – two and a half times more than in 2010 – not only for supporting young people, but equally for health care, education and pensions, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Human Capacities said at a press conference held on Tuesday in Budapest.
The Government has made the new childbirth incentives and the car purchasing subsidy for large families duty free, because it wouldn’t like the related administration to be complicated or require many supplemental costs”, the Ministry of Human Capacities’ State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák said on Hungarian M1 television on Wednesday.
“The Government’s goal is for it to be increasingly easy year-by-year to start a family in Hungary”, the Ministry of Human Capacities State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák declared on Kossuth Radio’s “Sunday Papers” show.
Families which are expecting babies in July will not forfeit eligibility for the baby expecting support, Minister of State Katalin Novák stressed in connection with the new decree with which the government has further facilitated the process of applying for the new benefit available from1 July.
“Demographics and family policy are not just an ideological issue, but also an economic issue, and are also of determining importance with relation to international competitiveness”, State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák said at a professional forum entitled ‘Work and Family’ organised by the German-Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
The image of family relayed by media to young people, the values they discover through that image, and the way family life is presented to them are not irrelevant, the Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs of the Ministry of Human Capacities said at the conference Media in the Service of Families held in Budapest on Tuesday.
“There are many ‘Hungarian-friendly’ politicians in Germany who would like to help Hungary and feel that there is a need in Europe for the position that Hungary represents, for instance with relation to migration”, the Ministry of Human Capacities’ State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs Novák Katalin said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI in assessment of her negotiations in Frankfurt, Germany.

726 nursery school places will be created in the upcoming years based on the Government’s tender for the establishment of family nurseries, out of 465 million forints (EUR 1.45 million) in funding.
The 2020 budget will be the budget of supporting families; the sum available for supporting families will exceed 2200 billion forints (EUR 6.8 bn) next year.
