Hungary is only able to consent to the European Union’s Covid-19 Recovery Fund if the EU brings the procedure instituted against Hungary under Article 7 to a conclusion, Fidesz Vice President Katalin Novák stressed in an interview given to Die Welt on Thursday.
The coronavirus pandemic compelled health care workers to implement a number of measures which drew attention to the vulnerability of our health care system.
During the coronavirus epidemic, the government must pay more attention to pensioners than ever before; this is why they are gradually re-introducing the 13th month pension, Minister of State for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák said on Thursday on Kossuth Radio’s programme ‘Good morning, Hungary’.
“The new academic year will hopefully begin in a traditional manner and according to a normal working schedule, but we must also prepare for the possibility of schools having to once again transition to digital teaching because of the coronavirus epidemic”, Minister of State for Pubic Education Zoltán Maruzsa said on Kossuth Radio’s “Good Morning, Hungary!” show on Monday.
The National Assembly adopted the bill on the introduction of a school guard system on 3 July 2020, and accordingly the school guard network can begin work in the designated public education and vocational training institutions in September 2020. During the parliamentary debate on the bill, all parties agreed that there is no place for any kind of violence in schools, and absolutely no form of violence is acceptable either between the students, or between students and teachers.
“The Stipendium Peregrinum scholarship provides outstanding students who would otherwise not have the opportunity to do so a chance to study at the highest quality foreign universities”, the Ministry of Human Capacities’ State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák said in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday in Balatonszárszó.
“School violence is more highly represented in the country’s north-eastern region than in the others”, the State Secretary for Education said on Kossuth Radio’s “Hungary!” show.
“The number of day nursery places has increased by some 60 percent over the past ten years, and the number of settlements that provide day nursery services has doubled”, the Ministry of Human Capacities’ State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs Katalin Novák said on Wednesday at the official inauguration of the Napsugár (Sunbeam) Nursery’s extension in Budapest’s 16th District.
“On Wednesday, and during the upcoming days, 170 thousand healthcare workers will be receiving their bonuses of 500 thousand forints gross in recognition of their efforts during the coronavirus epidemic; the government is providing 101 billion forints (EUR 283.8 million) for the one-time, extraordinary remuneration”, Minister of Human Capacities Miklós Kásler announced in Budapest on Wednesday.
“Hungary pays tribute to the performance of healthcare workers”, President of the Republic János Áder said at the Semmelweis Day event held at the National Institute for Infectology and Haematology in Budapest on Tuesday.
