Speaking in the opening session of the two-day NATO Transformation Seminar on Wednesday in Budapest, Minister of Defence István Simicskó said that NATO is “the guarantee of security”, and the member states “must think together in order to come up with efficient answers” to the challenges.
The four border protection bases which will serve to accommodate the members of the defence forces taking part in the protection of the southern border have been completed. The last facility was inaugurated in Hercegszántó on Monday.
After holding discussions in Zagreb with his Croatian host Damir Krsticevic, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó stated that the relationship between Croatia and Hungary is based on common interest, which must be strengthened and protected as effectively as possible.
Speaking at the jubilee celebration held on Thursday in Budapest to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hungarian Atlantic Council, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó emphasized that we must do more for our security, and the transatlantic relations are a key factor in this regard.
On Tuesday, 28 February, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó received Polish ambassador Jerzy Snopek on a courtesy call in Budapest. The ambassador presented his letter of credence to President of Hungary János Áder in November 2016.
