On Saturday Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated ethnographer Zoltán Kallós on his 90th birthday, to mark which a gala event was held at the Hungarian Opera in Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár).

In Parliament on Thursday Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Heinrich Hiesinger, CEO of the German automotive and mechanical engineering company ThyssenKrupp. At their meeting they also discussed the company’s latest investment in Hungary, worth HUF 33.5 billion.
“Hungary has an interest in the alleviation of the Russian embargo and in its partial lifting with regard to agricultural products”, Ministerial Commissioner for economic measures relating to the Russian embargo Gyula Budai said in Szentes.
In a joint statement released after the Prime Minister of Hungary visited the former German Chancellor in his home in Germany on Tuesday, Viktor Orbán and Helmut Kohl stated that Europe cannot be a new home to the millions of people in need around the world.
During his visit to former Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told the German newspaper Bild that Hungary stands by Berlin, and is supporting German Chancellor Angela Merkel with further initiatives.
At a press conference following a meeting with Helmut Kohl in his home, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that the former German Chancellor is a symbol of German-Hungarian friendship.
