UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon opened the ceremony which was held in remembrance of the victims of the Holocaust at the New York headquarters of the global organisation on Wednesday. Szabolcs Takács, State Secretary for European Affairs highlighted the Hungarian Government’s commitment to the fight against anti-Semitism.
On Thursday night Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will travel to the capital of Bulgaria. On Friday he will hold talks with his Bulgarian counterpart Boyko Borissov on strengthening Hungarian-Bulgarian relations; they will also discuss challenges facing the EU, including the issue of migration. Following their meeting the two prime ministers will hold a joint press conference.
According to the latest report of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), the number of people in employment has exceeded 4 million for almost two years in the month of December 2015. In the period October-December 2015, the number of people aged 15-74 years in employment rose by 118 thousand year-on-year, to a total of 4 million 259 thousand.
“The International day of remembrance for the victims of the Holocaust, the Shoes on the Danube Embankment memorial and the commemoration of tragedy also bear with them hope”, Minister of State for Security Policy and International Cooperation István Mikola said at the Government’s memorial ceremony to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Dr Csaba Latorczai, Deputy State Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office for priority social affairs delivered a speech at the Uránia National Cinema at the commemoration held on the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Nándor Csepreghy described the meeting of the Visegrád Four held in Prague at the beginning of the week as a breakthrough where, in his words, the attending countries succeeded in convincing the European Commission that the continuation of the cohesion policy is a worthwhile effort.
By October the entire retail gas market will have been taken over, and with the acquisition of the consumers of Tigáz, Főgáz Zrt., the gas supplier which operates under the professional supervision of the First National Public Utility Provider Company (ENKSZ Zrt.), will have some 3.4 million customers, Mrs Németh, Lászlóné told the press at a press conference held in the Székesfehérvár customer service office of Főgáz.
At a Hungarian-Mongolian business forum in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that that both Hungary and Mongolia are among the world’s successful nations, and that both have good reason to look forward to a bright future.
Following a meeting with his Mongolian counterparts in Ulan Bator, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that “Hungary and Mongolia are both successful and the governments of the two countries both have an interest in joint successes”.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will have a busy international schedule in the coming weeks: on Friday, he will hold talks with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria in Sofia, and in the first few days of February, he will travel to Jakarta to discuss economic, educational and cultural relations with President of Indonesia Joko Widodo. On 15 February, Mr. Orbán will attend the extraordinary summit of the prime ministers of the Visegrád countries announced by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
