Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister György Bakondi told public television channel M1 that Bulgaria represents a similar position as Hungary concerning border protection systems and migration policy: illegal mass migration must be stopped.
The Prime Minister’s press chief Bertalan Havasi has announced that “Three-time Spartathlon- and two-time Ultrabalaton-winning long distance and ultramarathon runner Szilvia Lubics has been awarded the Hungarian Medal of Honour. The 41-year-old athlete was presented with the state decoration by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán”.
At a press briefing held after the annual assessment and tasking conference for leaders of the Hungarian Defence Forces, Minister of Defence Dr. István Simicskó stated that “the Government of Hungary will not compromise the security of Hungarians, and that is the most important thing”.

With relation to the immigration crisis, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade warned that unprotected borders and European inaction would lead to “another Cologne”.
Viktor Orbán, the Prime Minister of Hungary is travelling to Indonesia for a three-day official visit on Saturday afternoon. From among members of the Government, the delegation travelling with the Prime Minister includes Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga, Minister for National Development Miklós Seszták and Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas, Bertalan Havas, head of the Prime Minister’s Press Office informed kormany.hu.
“The Government finds it outrageous that nobody has been made accountable in such a serious case as the red sludge disaster, which also claimed 10 lives”, Minister of State for Government Communication Bence Tuzson said on M1 Hungarian Television in reaction to the ruling by the Veszprém Court of Justice to acquit those charged with causing the disaster.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that Hungarian-Bulgarian relations are based on mutual respect which is “a scarce commodity in Europe today”.
Following talks with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in Sofia on Friday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that a new situation has been established in the European Union: migration has become the number one public security issue.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Julio C. Maglione, CEO of FINA Cornel Marculescu and President of the Hungarian Swimming Federation Tamás Gyárfás in Parliament.
The US Government did put pressure on Hungary in relation to the statue of Bálint Hóman, but Prime Minister Viktor Orbán strongly objected to this behaviour.
