At a joint press conference on Thursday with the city’s Mayor of Miskolc Ákos Kriza (Fidesz-KDNP), and following a review of the county capital’s recent development projects, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that “Miskolc is no longer a city of unemployment, but a city of enterprises seeking new workers”.
On Thursday, at invitation of Bishop of Miskolc Eparchy Atanáz Orosz, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán visited the seat of the Eparchy.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that while we are facing a threat from Brussels of “forced resettlement quotas”, the threat from the South is a significant increase in migration pressure this year.
“2015 was also a record year with regard to foreign investment; the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) has never successfully negotiated as many investments as it did last year”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Thursday in Budapest at a press conference assessing the HIPA’s annual performance.

Last year was another success story in the history of Hungary’s tourism sector. Tourism traffic was higher in each region; the number of arrivals and tourism nights grew by 7.4 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively. Revenues at accommodation establishments soared by 10 percent year-on-year, above the high base of 2014, another year of record highs. In the winter holiday season, Hungarians spent 39 000 more tourism nights at accommodation establishments than foreign visitors. This accounts for growth of 1.3 percent year-on-year.
