At a press conference on Tuesday, held after the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér said that it is clear that the migration pressure in Europe will not decrease.

In Parliament on Tuesday Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of Interior Károly Kontrát stressed that the aim of amending the legislation on entry and residence regulations for third country citizens and on the country’s border regulations is to ensure that no migrant can stay in Hungary illegally.
Minister of Interior Sándor Pintér and Minister of Justice László Trócsányi both gave speeches at the meeting of Interior Ministers of countries with inland Schengen borders in Szeged, which ended with the adoption of a joint statement on 13 May 2016.
The Government will initiate further restrictions to protect the borders. Károly Kontrát said at a press conference held on Friday: the Ministry has submitted a bill to Parliament with a view to reinforcing the legal protection of the state borders.
The Minister of State of the Ministry of Interior takes the view that the legislative package on counter-terrorism measures, which was debated by Parliament on Wednesday, reinforces the defence capability of the State and the law enforcement and counter-terrorism agencies and serves the security of the Hungarian people.
Effectively all theoretical obstacles have been removed from the approval of the Government’s counter-terrorism action plan, Károly Kontrát, Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior said after the five-party consultation held on Tuesday with respect to the counter-terrorism package.
