Those in need should be given all possible assistance and every opportunity to escape poverty, Minister of State for Social Affairs and Inclusion Károly Czibere said at a press conference held on Friday to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty in one of the country’s poorest areas, the György housing estate of the southwest Hungarian city of Pécs.
It is only possible to exit poverty through work and education, and accordingly since it was formed the Government has introduced several measures aimed at creating a work-based economy, the Ministry of Human Capacities’ Parliamentary State Secretary Bence Rétvári told kormany.hu on the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.

Students have one more week to apply for Klebelsberg scholarships, Minister of Human Capacities Zoltán Balog said at a press conference on Monday, at which he also went on to announce that the scholarship programme has a budget of 343 million forints (EUR 1.12 million).
