The purpose of all international meetings conducted by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is the enforcement of Hungarian national interests.
The reason why an outdoor event with the Prime Minister’s attendance was not organised for 23 October was that it was uncertain until the last minute whether an extraordinary European Council meeting was going to be necessary due to Brexit.
The government continues to remain committed to Budapest projects to be implemented from state funds, provided that there is a consensus between the government and the metropolitan municipality regarding their realisation.

In commemoration of our past heroes, everyone is invited to join the traditional commemorative torchlight procession on Tuesday, 22 October”, State Secretary for International Communication and Relations Zoltán Kovács highlighted in a statement to Hungarian news agency MTI on Monday evening.
