Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Antonio Tajani, President of the European Parliament, in the Parliament Building on Sunday morning, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
At an event marking the opening of Ericsson Hungary's new headquarters and development centre in Budapest, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said that once again Hungarians now believe that they are capable of more than skilful tactical manoeuvring and opportunism. Hungary, he said, now not only dares to think, but sometimes to think in Hungarian.
The government and the Hungarian Scout Association share the same values, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stressed on Sunday in Nagykovácsi, in Pest County, at the opening event of the national scouting day, at the inauguration of the refurbished Teleki-Tisza Castle.
On the Friday edition of the Kossuth Radio programme “180 Minutes”, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán spoke about the “Stop Soros” legislative package. He said that the organisation of illegal migration is a crime that damages national security interests, and therefore it is the duty of the Hungarian state to take action against it. These activities must be prohibited and punished, he said.
On Thursday afternoon in the Parliament Building Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received, on a one-to-one basis, several speakers of the international conference “The Future of Europe” held in Budapest, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
In addition to reviewing the state of Hungarian-Austrian bilateral relations, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Wolfgang Sobotka, President of the Austrian National Council, also discussed the European integration of the Western Balkans region at a meeting held in Budapest on Thursday, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
According to the Prime Minister’s communication, by 20 July Parliament will pass all bills which the government promised to enact, including the amendment of the Fundamental Law and the “Stop Soros” legislative package. Viktor Orbán also said they will guarantee a pension rise and a pension premium for next year as well.
In Parliament on Friday Prime Minister Viktor Orbán introduced his new cabinet, stating that for the Government “Hungary comes first, but through our work we also want to strengthen Europe.”
On Friday Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief, informed the Hungarian news agency MTI that a recent public statement by President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald S. Lauder – on relocation of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) from Budapest to Berlin – is deeply offensive to Hungary and its citizens. Mr. Havasi said that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has written to Mr. Lauder regarding the matter.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and French President Emmanuel Macron had talks before the summit of the EU and the Western Balkans countries in Sofia, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday morning.
