In Parliament on Monday Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that a national consultation is to be held on the five dangers that Hungary will have to face this year.
In a joint communication to Hungarian news agency MTI, Budapest Municipality’s Director for Communications Mária Szűcs-Somlyó and the Prime Minister’s press chief Bertalan Havasi stated that on Friday evening Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Mayor of Budapest István Tarlós held extended discussions on the fate of Budapest’s Olympic bid.
Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Prime Minister’s Press Office, has informed kormany.hu that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and András Heisler, President of the Federation of Hungarian Jewish Communities (Mazsihisz), met in the Parliament Building on Tuesday evening. They discussed joint tasks to be performed in 2017 and the problems and plans of the Jewish community in Hungary, including the development of the religious community’s institutions.
In an interview with the magazine of the National Public Service University, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that the Government is seeking to ensure that all leaders of state institutions – either at regional or central levels – receive training in state administration and political science.
Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief, informed kormany.hu that, on behalf of the Hungarian people, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had sent a letter wishing Polish prime minister Beata Szydło strength and good health as she recovers from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that the task for 2017 is for Hungarians to defend themselves against five major attacks. In his annual state of the nation address on Friday, Mr. Orbán said that “This will require a new national policy”.
Bertalan Havasi, Head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister, has informed kormany.hu that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tajebnia have held talks on economic and energy cooperation between Iran and Hungary, as well as the investments of the two countries’ companies.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that major progress could be achieved if Italy changes its standpoint on handling migration, because then the wave of migrants could be successfully stopped before they enter the European Union.
“Hungary values its cooperation with Russia”, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said at a joint press conference with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Budapest on Thursday.
Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, informed Hungarian news agency MTI that on Thursday evening Prime Minister Viktor Orbán flew to Malta, where he will be participating in an informal EU summit on Friday.
