Bertalan Havasi, Head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister, has informed the government news portal kormany.hu that “In the Parliament Building on Friday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Tamás Gyárfás, outgoing President of the Hungarian Swimming Association and Vice-President of the International Swimming Federation (FINA)”.
Mr. Havasi said that the Prime Minister greatly appreciates the work that Mr. Gyárfás has done in the interests of Hungarian swimming, in cooperation with Hungarian governments over the past two decades.
The Prime Minister’s Press Chief said: “At the meeting, Mr. Orbán stressed that he is definitely counting on the sport diplomat’s domestic and international efforts in the future, with special regard to this year’s FINA World Championships and the 2020 European Aquatics Championships – both of which are being hosted by Hungary”.
