The Prime Minister’s Press Chief Bertalan Havasi told Hungarian news agency MTI that Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has sent a letter to Sebastian Kurz, congratulating him on his appointment as Federal Chancellor of Austria.
The Hungarian prime minister stated that he is pleased that Austria is again led by a government based on Christian and conservative values. Mr. Orbán wrote, “I am looking forward to our work together, with which I may contribute to the strengthening of Hungarian-Austrian relations, the development of the Central European region and the restoration of our continent’s security”.
In Vienna on Monday the new coalition government formed by the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP) and the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) took its oath of office, under the leadership of a new chancellor who is currently the world’s youngest head of government: the 31-year-old Chairman of the ÖVP, Sebastian Kurz.
