Ahead of the extraordinary EU summit convened due to the political crisis in Belarus, the prime ministers of the Visegrád countries will conduct separate talks, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

He said Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovic and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will hold a video conference at 11.15 a.m. ahead of the extraordinary summit of the leaders of the 27 EU Member States scheduled for noon which will also be held online.

President of the European Commission Charles Michel announced on Monday that the leaders of Member States will hold an extraordinary video conference in connection with the crisis in Belarus.

Earlier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said the strength and importance of the Visegrád cooperation is becoming evident also on this occasion, “we, too, support the Polish position” in relation to Belarus.
