Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte has sent a letter to Viktor Orbán congratulating him on his election victory, the Prime Minister’s Press Chief, Bertalan Havasi informed Hungarian news agency MTI on Thursday.

In the letter, the Dutch Prime Minister expressed his willingness to engage in further cooperation not only within the field of bilateral relations, but also within the framework of the European Union and other forums.

“The challenges that Europe is facing demand effective leadership and cooperation”, Mark Rutte underlined, adding that he hopes that as an important EU member state Hungary will be working constructively together with Holland and other EU partners to preserve their common values.

“I wish you wisdom and much success for the important task that lies before you”, the Dutch Prime Minister said in closing in his letter to Viktor Orbán.
