Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is attending the two-day summit of the European Union in Brussels. According to the Press Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister held informal discussions on Thursday in Brussels with the cabinet members of the Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, Tibor Navracsics.
After the talks, Mr Orbán attended the summit of the European People’s Party. Prior to the meeting of the European Council, Heads of the Visegrád countries will hold a preparatory session in the afternoon – Mr Havasi said.
At the Thursday and Friday meeting of the European Council - that consists of the Heads of EU member states - the European Commission’s proposal concerning the establishment of the energy union, the May summit of the Eastern Partnership and the sanctions imposed on Russia will be on the agenda. The Greek economic situation is also expected to be discussed.
