Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief, has informed kormany.hu that in the Parliament Building on Tuesday Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held talks with Cornel Marculescu, Executive Director of the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
According to Mr. Maculescu, everything is in place for Hungary to host the best World Aquatics Championships ever.
Tamás Gyárfás, Vice-President of the International Swimming Federation, also attended the meeting. Mr. Havasi added that Mr. Marculescu declared himself satisfied with the preparatory works for this year’s World Aquatics Championships – especially with the progress being made on construction of the Dagály Swimming Centre.
Budapest will host the World Aquatics Championships on 14–30 June 2017.
