On Saturday afternoon in the Parliament Building Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Janez Jansa, President of the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), whom he congratulated in person on his election victory, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
The meeting of the two politicians focused on the European integration of the Western Balkans. Mr Orbán pointed out repeatedly that Hungary fully supports this process, the press chief said.
This week the Slovenian election committee (DVK) confirmed that former Prime Minister Janez Jansa’s party, the right-wing Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS), which had been in opposition to date, won the parliamentary elections.
In the ninety-member parliament 46 mandates are necessary for a parliamentary majority. At this point in time both the right-wing SDS in opposition to date and the centre-left List of Marjan Saric (LMC) which came second could form a government, but each needs further coalition partners.
