Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with the Chinese Premier in Riga, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister told the Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday in Riga.
Upon rendering an account of the talks of the Prime Minister attending the China-Eastern-Central-European summit, Mr Havasi said: „Hungary and the countries of Central-Europe are committed, firm and loud supporters of Chinese-European cooperation”.
In its current critical situation, Europe has a vested interest in fostering close relations with China, he stressed.
As he said, Hungary is at the forefront of this cooperation as last year Hungarian exports to China were the highest in the region, and Hungary is today the flagship of the China-Central-Europe cooperation. At the same time, major progress is being made in the implementation of the Belgrade-Budapest railway line.
