Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has congratulated the new prime minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis on his party’s election victory and his appointment as prime minister in a letter.
“Please allow me to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the victory of your party New Democracy and your appointment as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Greece.
“I sincerely believe that – based on the foundations of mutual respect and constructive dialogue – we will succeed in further strengthening cooperation between our countries in the future. I wish you good health and all the very best with your responsible duties and the term of government ahead of you,” Mr Orbán wrote to his Greek partner.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis took his oath as prime minister on Monday after his party, the right-wing New Democracy (ND) won the parliamentary elections the day before, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the government news portal kormany.hu.
