On the day of national mourning held on Sunday for victims of the Paris terrorist attacks, the Hungarian National Flag was raised with military honours and flown at half-mast.
Among those present at the ceremony on Kossuth Square in front of the Parliament building were Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, French Ambassador to Budapest Éric Fournier, Head of the Cabinet of the Prime Minister Antal Rogán and Minister of Justice László Trócsányi.
The government decision to hold a day of national mourning on 15 November was published on Saturday. The decision was made to commemorate the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks committed by the Islamic State on Friday, and to offer sympathy to the injured.
