Greek, Montenegrin and Ukrainian leaders also congratulated Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on his Sunday election victory, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

In a letter Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras wished Mr Orbán the best of luck with the accomplishment of his mission, and stated at the same time that he looks forward to the continuation of their cooperation now when “the European Union and its wider environment, too, are in a critical situation”.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Dusko Markovic congratulated the Fidesz-KDNP party alliance on its convincing victory and fourth mandate on his own and his government’s behalf. He thanked Hungary for supporting Montenegro’s European integration and for all the measures that Mr Orbán is taking personally to further that cause. He pointed out that Montenegro will carry out the necessary reforms with the same determination.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko also congratulated the Fidesz-KDNP party alliance on its convincing victory. He wished Mr Orbán every success with his activities involving the utmost responsibility, and wished “the friendly Hungarian people” peace, welfare and advancement.
