At the V4 consultation held on Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán repeatedly stood up for the Polish position represented in relation to the crisis in Belarus, while at the extraordinary EU summit held thereafter, he urged the preparation of a comprehensive EU geostrategic plan which also contains military and economic elements, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief told the Hungarian news agency MTI after the talks.

The Hungarian Prime Minister made it clear that there is agreement among the Visegrád countries as regards the case of Belarus; all of the V4 partners, including Hungary firmly support Poland’s position.

At the extraordinary video conference of the European Council, Mr Orbán called upon the European Union to prepare a genuine and comprehensive geostrategic plan as soon as possible in response to the situation that has evolved in the wake of the crisis in Belarus which – in addition to human rights and democratic aspects – must also include military and economic considerations, Mr Havasi said.
