The migration chain must be disrupted, Government Spokesperson Zoltán Kovács stressed on the Thursday evening programme of the public service current affairs news channel M1.
The transportation of migrants is an organised process; if we are unable to disrupt this chain with the involvement of all parties concerned, “we shall find it extremely difficult to fight (…) what we are facing today. These people will continue to come here”, he said, adding: “the entire process should be stopped in Greece as far as possible”.
The Government Spokesperson takes the view that, in addition to some countries outside the Community, there are fundamental problems with the approach of the European Union as well. Europe should have prepared for this situation, and additionally “there is a fundamental misinformation campaign regarding Hungary”, as a result of which opinion makers arrive at conclusions on the basis of false news.
We can be blamed for the situation which has evolved, but it is quite certain that one thing is for real: Hungary prepared, or at least attempted to prepare to the best of its abilities, for facing this challenge, while the countries around us evidently have not, Mr Kovács said.
