We have succeeded in dispersing the “left-wing fog” which characterised, before their arrival, the delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on Budgetary Control currently visiting Hungary, the State Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office told journalists.
Nándor Csepreghy said: the delegation was given a comprehensive account of the utilisation of EU funds, and based on what they saw, their views became substantially less prejudiced than they were before their arrival in Hungary. Before the delegation’s visit left-wing Hungarian members of the European Parliament attempted to depict Hungarian EU projects in a light which is not only factually untrue, but is even ill-intentioned. The left-wing Hungarian members of the European Parliament filed accusations against their own country once again, he said.
The State Secretary said: it is regrettable that the opposition exports internal political disputes to other countries, and takes them to the level of the European Union. The delegation came to Hungary as if the allegations of the left-wing Members of Parliament had been factually true. By contrast, they have experienced first hand that the monitored projects had been implemented even if they may give rise to debates, he added.
We have succeeded in dispersing the “left-wing fog” which clouded the Committee’s vision before its visit, Mr Csepreghy said. He stated: the efficiency of the utilisation of EU funds in Hungary is unparalleled in the whole of the European Union.
