Prof. Dr Jörg Monar, Rector of the College of Europe paid a visit to Budapest on 12 April 2017 at the invitation of Szabolcs Takács, Minister of State for EU Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the course of his stay in Budapest, the Rector visited the National Public Service University where he met with Vice-rector Dr Judit Nagy and Dean Dr Boglárka Koller. During the meeting the parties reviewed the possibilities of cooperation between the two institutions, and also consulted with respect to the requirements which students graduating today must meet in order to be successful in institutions concerned with the issues of the European Union and to gain admission to the postgraduate training programmes of the College of Europe.

The Rector further met young Hungarians who gained admission to the College for the 2017/18 academic year as well as students who formerly attended the institution, and had talks with Minister of State Szabolcs Takács regarding the current issues of EU affairs, with special emphasis on Brexit, the migration crisis and the future of Europe, while the parties also discussed the possibilities of future cooperation between the Government and the educational institution.
