The Hungary Helps Agency and the Hungarian Kolping Association signed a cooperation framework agreement in the presence of His Holiness Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch.
Prior to the agreement, at an earlier general meeting of the Kolping Association a decision was adopted regarding the collection of donations for persecuted Christian communities. As part of this, the Hungarian Kolping Association collected donations worth ten million forints which, under the framework agreement, will reach the needy with the help and involvement of the Hungary Helps Agency. The donations will contribute to the furnishing and operation of a community centre to be built by the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch in the City of Latakia which the Hungarian Government also supports under Government Resolution No. 1305/2019 (V.27.).
