Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament János Latorcai will make an official visit to the Republic of Korea and to Vietnam – Press Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office announced.

Throughout the programmes organised to correspond to the strategy of the Opening to the East, the two politicians will hold negotiations with members of the governments and parliaments of the host countries– the Press Chief said. Apart from strengthening the relations with the countries concerned, the aim of the visit is also to overview the situation of Christian communities in Asia together with the local leaders of the church.

In Soul the delegation will be received among others by Speaker of the National Assembly, Chung Ui-hwa. The Deputy Prime Minister will hold talks with his Korean counterpart Hwant Woo-yea on strengthening cooperation between the two countries as well.

The next station of the official visit will be the Vietnamese capital Hanoi, where the Hungarian politicians will be welcomed by President Truong Tan Sang and where they will hold discussions with Deputy Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. At a meeting with Cardinal of Hanoi Pierre Van Nhon Nguyen, the delegation will overview the situation of the local Christian communities. In the framework of their official visit, the Hungarian politicians will also participate in the official events of the 132nd Inter-parliamentary Union in Hanoi.

In the course of the visit Mr Semjén and his delegation will also meet Vietnamese professionals who have acquired their degrees in Hungary – Mr Havasi said.
