Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó, who is in Washington, D.C. to attend the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit as a member of the Hungarian delegation led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, has been holding a series of meetings in the U.S. capital, including on political issues and energy cooperation.
It is the duty of the State to protect its citizens, and it is therefore a reasonable expectation that all parliamentary parties should adopt a responsible decision on the Government’s counter-terrorism action plan.
Hungary is in dispute with the European Commission in some ten cases regarding the EU grant disbursements during the period between 2007-2013; however, in four cases Hungary disagrees with the Commission, and these will therefore be taken to the European Court as expected, the Minister of State at the Prime Minister’s Office said on the programme Mokka of the television channel TV2.

On Wednesday, State Minister for Schools László Palkovics said that the Schools Education Round Table remains the proper way of discussing the problems of the schools system; he was referring to a strike announced for today by the “I Want to Teach” movement. He said that today’s action does not serve the interests of either students or teachers, and is thus misguided.
In Budapest on Wednesday, at a conference commemorating the 100th anniversary of Islam’s recognition as a religion in Hungary, Minister of Human Capacities Zoltán Balog said that a dialogue is required with Islam, and it needs partners.
On Tuesday evening György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, told Hungarian television channel M1 that the terrorist cell linked to the Brussels attacks has been eradicated, and thus there is no further justification for Hungary retaining its terror alert at Level 2.

At a press conference, state secretary at the Hungarian Justice Ministry Pál Völner has said that “Hungary is committed to proceeding with the lawsuit it has launched against compulsory migration quotas, and in light of the terror threat its resolve is absolute”.
It has been one of the Government’s priorities to support enterprises that are genuine driving forces in the national economy; Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said, upon announcing a capacity expansion project by Ajkai Elektronikai Ltd and AE-Plasztik Ltd.
