On Monday Hungarian Police informed Hungarian news agency MTI that 247 people were apprehended for illegally crossing the border between Friday and Sunday.
Hungary is participating in stopping and managing the immigration that is affecting Europe in excess of its economic strength. In contrast to many other European countries, Hungary has conformed to EU regulations throughout, is protecting the European Union’s Schengen borders and is registering and separating refugees of war from economic immigrants.

On Saturday, after he attended a two-day North Atlantic Council meeting at the NATO summit in Warsaw, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told the Hungarian press that after a Hungarian initiative NATO is also assisting in the fight against migration.
“The stability of our southern neighbourhood is extremely important to Hungary with relation to stemming the wave of immigration, and so we are striving to contribute to the region’s stability”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó told Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday.
After last year’s record-breaking year, the number of investments which came to Hungary with the assistance of the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) increased significantly also in the first six months of this year, and the total value of investments reached EUR 1.33 billion.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó is attending the summit of NATO Member States in Warsaw on Friday and Saturday, on the sidelines of which he met with Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Poposki to discuss, amongst others, immigration.
