The request submitted to the Constitutional Court by the Budapest-Capital Regional Court in order to review the constitutionality of the Debtors' Relief Act is not well-founded, the Minister of Justice states in a letter sent to the top court published on the government's website on Friday.
On the centenary of the outbreak of World War I, Minister of Defence Csaba Hende and several Hungarian pilgrims visited the battlefield of Isonzo and held a commemoration in the Hungarian cemetery on Saturday, September 13. The politician gave Pope Francis a gift of the Ministry of Defence, after the Head of the Catholic Church celebrated Mass in the military cemetery of Fogliano Redipuglia.
The physical state of some 1500-1700 motor vehicles are to be assessed from an environmental aspect this year in the framework of the now traditional Environmental Campaign on Road Transport between 15 and 19 September 2014 in the capital city of Budapest and in the towns of Debrecen, Győr and Szeged. The series of tests to be carried out is also aimed to remind motorists that the best way to reduce environmental pollution is through environmentally friendly car use and the maintenance of vehicles as prescribed by the manufacturers.
Although Europe and Asia mutually depend on each other from an economic point of view, in the current situation Europe probably needs Asia more, Minister for National Economy Mihály Varga said. He represented Hungary at the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Milan.

The Government is working on the security of the residential gas supply in Hungary: it has commissioned the Hungarian Development Bank (MFB) to establish a gas trading company. On the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on Child Rights Hungarian officials informed the U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child on the implementation in Hungary of the Convention in Geneva on 9 and 10 September.
Minister of State for Sports István Simicskó attended the closing press conference of the FINA World Open Water Junior Swimming Championships held in Hungary, which was an unparalleled success. Mr. Simicskó said it was a good decision to grant Hungary the right to host, and the government proved right in making a HUF 50 million (EUR 158,000) financial contribution to the event.
Following the more than 11 percent increase in the month of June, in July 20104 the industrial sector expanded by 12.3 percent year-on-year. Minister of State for Economic Regulation Béla Glattfelder, commenting on the latest data published by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH), said that this growth figure is the best in three years. Rebounding industrial output has been increasingly contributing to economic growth and this development is in line with the Government’s aim to elevate the industrial output-to-GDP ratio to the highest level within Europe, he added.
