On Friday, György Bakondi, Chief Security Advisor to the Prime Minister told public television channel M1 that as part of the anti-terrorism action plan the Government could implement small but important changes. Secret services would for example be provided with mobile communication “solution codes”.

Mr. Bakondi explained that manufacturers sell equipment that secret services have no solution codes to, thus they are unable to solve messages that could be essential to prevent potential terrorist attacks, or with which it would be easier to find the attackers.

He said that should manufacturers not provide the necessary keys, they will not be allowed to sell their products, just like one cannot buy cards for mobile phones anonymously. But this concerns people who have become suspicious due to terrorism.
