During the weekend, the police took action due to the violation of the protective measures in effect in 99 instances, the deputy head of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the fight against the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference held on Monday.
Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss said they were required to take action in 35 instances due to the fact that passengers travelling on public transport were not wearing or were not correctly wearing face masks; 33 persons were cautioned, while two were prosecuted. In sixty-four instances they took action because the protective regulations were not observed on the premises of shops, catering establishments or other public institutions. Due to this, in addition to 54 cautions, they imposed 7 onsite fines and prosecuted three persons.
During the weekend, due to the violation of the rules relating to transit through the territory of the country in passenger traffic, the police took action in 61 instances, while the rule relating to the restricted opening hours of catering establishments was only violated in one instance, he added.
He said at 7.00 a.m. on Monday, the border crossing point between Cered and Tajti was opened; it is now open twice a day for border crossing, between 7.00 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. and 6.00 p.m. for bilateral passenger traffic. The Cered border crossing point included, there are now four border crossing points in Nógrád County for passenger traffic and one for international cargo traffic.
He highlighted that entry and exit at the country’s borders are smooth, with only short waiting times in two places; in cargo traffic on the entry side, there is a three-hour wait at the Csanádpalota motorway border crossing station, while in passenger traffic on the entry side there is a two-hour wait at the Beregsurány road border crossing station.
Mr Kiss said at the weekend 4,792 compulsory home quarantine orders were issued, including 1,426 during entry into the territory of Hungary. The number of compulsory home quarantine orders in effect currently stands at 21,491, and during the weekend the police checked compliance with the rules relating to compulsory home quarantine in 22,719 cases.
The mobile telephone application which serves the electronic monitoring of quarantine currently has 1,095 registered users. According to his information, the number of criminal procedures instituted in connection with the epidemic has risen to 493, and in total 90 suspects have been questioned.
The Lt. Colonel also mentioned that on Saturday the government decree on the protective measures of the state of disease control preparedness changed; according to this, between 11.00 p.m. and 6.00 a.m. no one, other than representatives of the establishments and technical staff, is allowed to be present on the premises of gaming casinos and card halls.
In answer to a question, he said since 21 September 1,140 procedures have been conducted due to the violation of the rules relating to the wearing of face masks, including against 413 persons because they violated the rules on board public transport vehicles and against 727 persons because they violated the rules on the premises of shops and public institutions. 975 persons have been cautioned, 69 onsite fines have been imposed and 96 persons have been prosecuted.
