Sziget, VOLT, Balaton Sound and Nagy Balaton festivals are set to receive further 415 million HUF support from the Government, Éva Kurucz Government Spokesperson has announced. She stated that 10-12% of annual tourism in Hungary is generated by such festivals, resulting in 100 billion forints of income for the economy.
The Government already decreased the VAT for tickets last year from 27% to 18%, which was a major step for organisers, Bence Rétvári, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of Human Capacities stated. He reminded that the Government also supports 19 upcoming festivals through the National Cultural Fund.
