As many as 1,459 persons have registered for the mobile phone application that serves to electronically monitor compulsory home quarantine; the number of active users currently stands at 924, a staff member of the duty centre of the Operational Group responsible for the containment of the coronavirus epidemic said at an online press conference held on Monday.

Lt. Colonel Róbert Kiss said on Sunday 691 compulsory home quarantine orders were issued, with 11,810 such restrictive orders in effect in total at present. On Sunday, the police detected the violation of the rules of compulsory home quarantine in 33 instances, he said.

The Lt. Colonel also highlighted that from 10.00 a.m. on Monday, Hungarian and Serbian nationals are allowed to enter Hungary from the territory of the Republic of Serbia without compulsory home quarantine.

He added that if a person entering the country detects the symptoms of coronavirus infection within 14 days of entry, they may not leave their home, place of residence or temporary accommodation and must notify the disease control authority.

The staff member of the duty centre said the number of criminal procedures instituted in connection with the epidemic has risen to 392, including 106 due to scaremongering, 29 due to the threat of public endangerment, 121 due to fraud and 21 due to the violation of disease control regulations. In these procedures, the police have questioned 79 persons as suspects so far, the Lt. Colonel added.

Mr Kiss described the current border traffic data and delays as favourable, stating that on Monday morning in cargo traffic on the entry side there is a two-hour delay at Röszke, while at Ártánd, Csengersima and Tompa there are delays of up to an hour.
