On Monday, Minister of State for Cooperation in European and International Affairs at the Ministry of Justice Barna Berke said on public television channel M1 that “two special envoys will be appointed by the European Commission in order to tackle anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim incidents”.
Mr. Berke said that this decision – among others – was made at the colloquium entitled "Tolerance and respect: preventing and combating anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim hatred in Europe" held in Brussels between 1 and 2 October 2015.
He also added that the two special envoys will work together with EU Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Věra Jourová and their main task will be receiving, processing and evaluating reports on and indications of anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim statements and behaviours.
