After banks have compensated clients for their unfair practices, a new era must begin in the banking system of Hungary, Minister László Trócsányi said on 16th September.

In his exposé, at the beginning of the parliamentary debate on the loan compensation bill, Minister Trócsányi said that the proposal was about providing compensation for clients who overpaid monthly debt payments due to invalid contracts.

“Protecting the debtors and settling their legal situation is one of our state's most urgent problems,” the Minister said. “The government's current undertaking is unique, and a broad social consensus is needed”, he also added.
