Judit Varga participated in the Informal Meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council held in Zagreb on 23 January, the Ministry of Justice (MJ) announced in a communication sent to MTI (Hungarian News Agency).
The Ministers of Justice conferred about future strategic guidelines aiming to promote the enforcement of freedom, security and law. The strategic guidelines will be approved by the Heads of State and Government in compliance with the 2019-2024 Strategic Agenda approved in June 2019.
Judit Varga called for giving a key role to the protection of the rights of victims within the judicial cooperation in the coming institutional cycle of five years. In addition, the Minister pointed out that the EU judicial cooperation must present results that are also tangible for the citizens of EU on fields such as the rights of victims and injured parties, assisting the victims, the international enforcement of maintenance obligations or returning abducted children.
