“The Agreement signed at the EU-Turkey Summit does not provide any guarantees that the quota regulating the distribution of migrants will not become obligatory again in the future”, said Pál Völner, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice on 19 March 2016 in the evening programme of television channel M1.

The Secretary of State mentioned that it was also possible that the decision concerning the quota was just a “strategic withdrawal” on the EU’s part, and it would be taken up again at the very first opportunity.

“If the EU provided guarantees that this would not happen in the future (…), then the question of the referendum would obviously become devoid of purpose”, he said, adding, however, that at the moment this was not the direction that things follow.
